(14 May 2005, Grand Hyatt Hotel)

Up to 100 women of all ages turned up for Leonard Drake's Anti-Ageing Workshop held on Saturday 14 May 2005 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. With beautiful contemporary chandeliers adorned with crystals and rich-feeling curtains that dressed the long wind windows of the large Hibiscus Room, the setting served as a lush backdrop to the theatre-style seating and various eye-catching product display counters.

Guest were warmly greeted by Leonard Drake staff who presented them with a Leonard Drake signature paper bag filled with goodies including facial vouchers, an exclusive key chain, Dermalogica products and a stalk of a pretty pink gerbera (sponsored by Valen Fleur). A repertoire of mid-tempo light jazz standards and contemporary numbers played softly got many guests humming along.

The program for the afternoon commenced with Marketing Manager, Simon Lim, who explained the natural ageing process and gave a concise insight to premature ageing. The audience got to understand the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous layers of the skin better and saw how collagen structure looked at different ages. Technical Manager, Karin Boo then spoke about the professional non-surgical and non-invasive treatments to treat ageing skin. The audience also saw a "live" demonstration using Microlifting and Ultrasound techniques which showed how these safe yet hi-tech machines work effectively on the skin.

Karin emphasized how such advanced techniques coupled with proper home care using Dermalogica products would help customers achieve optimum skin health. Among the highlights were Dermalogica's cleansers, exfoliants, solar defense range, masques, Multivitamin Power Concentrate, boosters and Power Rich. Simon also spoke about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in order to maintain youthful-looking and radiant skin. He reminded the audience of the basic food pyramid structure, endorphins released during exercise, drinking water in proportion to one's body weight and eliminating certain habits to enjoy better sleep.

The workshop concluded with afternoon tea from the Grand Hyatt's selection of seasonal fresh fruits, crème brulee with berries, sausage baked in brioche, and chilled soba noodle with condiments. Amidst tea, the ladies got a complimentary make-over by Averine Skincare Cosmetics, skin scanning, and personal consultation on the range of Leonard Drake skincare treatments and Dermalogica products.
