"Common Skin Problems For Men"- Presented by Dermalogica and Leonard Drake Skin Care & Health Spa
(22 Sep 2007, Leonard Drake Flagship at Ngee Ann City, Tower B)
Saturday 22 Sep 2007 -Readers of popular men's magazine, AUGUST MAN gravitated towards the penthouse level of Ngee Ann City Tower B for an exclusive skincare workshop (two similar sessions in the morning and late afternoon) organized by Dermalogica and Leonard Drake Skin Care & Health Spa.
Dermalogica Educator, Ms Teri Tay, opened each workshop with the key topic "Common Skin Problems For Men". Teri began by explaining how the workshop would empower the men with knowledge to understand their skin better, and to make informed choices in purchasing skincare products. She further emphasized on Dermalogica's uniqueness of not focusing on beauty, but professional skin health- including using bio-degradable packaging in being eco-friendly.
The readers of AUGUST MAN were extremely surprised to learn how many harmful ingredients on the skin can be found in many off-counter and cosmetic skincare brands. Teri explained how artificial colouring causes skin irritation and photosensitivity, while mineral oil clogs pores. The men also learned how androgens affect the skin and gained tips on treating blemished skin or pimple spots properly. The 'live' sampling of Dermalogica products allowed the guys to witness the power and difference of using such professional homecare products.
Leonard Drake's Technical Manager, Ms Karin Boo stationed herself in an elongated and cozy treatment room to welcome the gentlemen. They had the priviledge to observe a 'live' demonstration of the Deep Pore Cleansing Treatment (a signature at Leonard Drake), designed to treat acne prone skin. Ms Boo showed the guys a concise version of the treatment step-by-step, shared useful skincare tips and even revealed a secret on how to prevent wrinkles around the eye area.
The workshop concluded with a Face Mapping analysis and specials promotions - which the guys lapped up instantly! The men must have had plenty to share with their girlfriends or spouse after the workshop that Saturday.
