Wednesday 26 August 2009 – At the invitation of IBM, Leonard Drake Skincare & Health Spa visited IBM Place at Changi Business Park to conduct a workshop titled "Brighter and Beautiful Skin" for 40 IBM secretaries. The session opened with a greeting by IBM, followed by an introduction to Leonard Drake Skincare & Health Spa - including its philosophy, services, product range, and testimonials from personalities.

Penny Lee, Trainer & Technical Executive began by introducing the guests to the natural ageing process, giving a detailed look at the causes and effects of ageing. The ladies were certainly intrigued by the slides that showed how the collagen structure looks like at various stages in one's life. She also spoke about the importance of recognising ingredients that are harmful to the skin such as isopropyl myristate (that creeps into the hair follicles), formaldehydes (that irritate mucus membranes), and artificial fragrance (that lead to skin photosensitivity). Penny included a demonstration of a facial treatment, whereby the secretaries could see up close the treatment process and its benefits - cleansing, exfoliation, serums, lymphatic drainage, masque, toner, moisturiser, and sun protection.

Amy Lim, Leonard Drake's Official Make-Up Trainer continued with a 'live' make-up demonstration, using Averine skincare cosmetics. She showed how effortless it can be to create that natural corporate image with Averine colours! The ladies were extremely excited in watching Amy transform one of their own IBM staff into a sharper and fresh-looking secretary! Throughout her demonstration, Amy gave the women very useful tips on make-up application and revealed make-up tricks to accentuate one's facial features, while downplaying any flaws.

The workshop ended with the ladies enjoying lucky draw prizes sponsored by Leonard Drake Skincare & Health Spa - including Biohealth Half Body Infrared Sauna Treatments and Averine Goes Glam Make-Up Classes. Many of the secretaries were so pleased with the workshop that they purchased Dermalogica, Averine and Leonard Drake treatments on the spot.
